Dr. Forrest E. Watson, President/CEO
A longtime education leader in Texas and worldwide, Dr. Forrest E. Watson is a widely recognized, innovative educator. Having served as Superintendent of several Texas school districts, he has vast experience in the traditional public school system and in charter schools.
Having established a renowned school in Russia, Dr. Watson brings first-hand knowledge and expertise to Young Leaders Campus in its early development and expansion stage.
Dr. Watson earned his academic degrees from University of North Texas, Bachelor of Science, Master of Education and Doctorate. The University of North Texas recently honored Dr. Watson with designation of “Distinguished Alumnus.” He has been a professional educator in Texas for 45 years as a teacher, athletics coach, elementary and secondary principal, and superintendent. Thirty-five of these years he served as a Superintendent of Schools.
In June of 1991, Dr. Watson retired as superintendent of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District after thirteen years in that position. Watson considers his service in HEB-ISD to be the “Golden Years” of his career. The academic and sports achievements of the students and staff were outstanding and a great credit to the quality of the leadership team working with Watson. He is especially proud of the design and construction of Pennington Field and the Board and community establishing the “Forrest E. Watson Education Center.” He will always treasure the people and time experienced in HEB-ISD.
A native and lifelong resident of Texas, Dr. Watson is founder and president of Aletheia Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 1983 to address educational needs around the world. Various projects have taken him to Thailand, Russia, the Ukraine, Lesotho, Zambia, Zaire, Western Samoa, South Africa, Mexico, and other foreign locations where he helped set up over 200 Christian Schools.
